Making serious software fast for founders and business owners around the world

I launched Mike Builds Tech from the frustration of waiting on big agencies and slow dev teams back when I was building startups.
"When you want it done right, you gotta do it yourself!".
So I share my decades of experience with entrepreneurs I enjoy working with to fuse strategic product thinking with hands-on coding, so you don’t have to choose between speed and quality.
With 20+ years guiding startups, CTO experience, and full-stack development, I speak plain English, align tech with business goals, and deliver production-ready software in days or weeks. Currently located in France after many years in the United States, I work with founders and businesses worldwide who need measurable outcomes, not endless meetings.
Software should accelerate a business, not stall it.

I wrote my very first line of code when I was 8 in the 1980s. I built my first video game at age 14 on a CPC 464, my own Photoshop at age 16 on an Amiga 500 and my first website in 1995. But my early career wasn't in tech.
I started it as a teacher and quit a few years later to start my own company. Business has taken me to every continent (except Australia so far) and I've started and sold businesses in America, in Europe, in China and in Africa.
Let's get on an assessment call. I'll make sure I can help you, and I'll give you a timeline and a price during the call. No time wasted.
As Roger used to say in Leathal Weapon: "I'm getting too old for this sh*t". So I cherry pick the project I work on. It needs to be enjoyable for you and for me. This is how we can get it done right. I handle 20 to 50 projects per year depending on the scope of work. You talk to me, I help you strategize and then I pesonally build your tech. I never subcontract so that I can stand by my code.
In order to speed up the development process, I created my own team of coworkers, all AI employees. Emily handles all the code review and testing, Pierre is in charge of automations, Kim works at optimizing database and API usage and Eric is timing manager who makes sure I get the rest, physical activity and social interactions I need to remain in great shape.
